Dominica airport, hydraulics design review
Project type:
Consulting services
Design review services for the storm water drainage works of the new international airport in Dominica which is currently [May 2025] being constructed.
This project involved a comprehensive assessment of the proposed drainage systems for both the external catchments and land/air side of the airport to ensure efficiency, resilience, and compliance with industry standards.
The topography of the area poses significant challenges to the drainage design since the airport is developed across various valley lines which needed to be replaced by means of large culverts. Furthermore, embankments and cuts needed additional drainage works.
Our engineers support the construction team in providing detailed review of the proposed stormwater drainage solutions, focusing on optimizing the hydraulic design to effectively manage runoff across the challenging terrain.
