New sewer network design in Chora, Ios
Project type:
Public infrastructure
Detailed design of a new wastewater sewerage network within the traditional settlement of Chora, Ios, aiming to replace the existing, inadequate system that frequently overflows during peak periods.
The proposed network, with a total length of approximately 3.7 km, will collect sewage by gravity through a system of free-flow pipes and connect to the existing transfer mains leading to the wastewater treatment plant. Due to the narrow streets and pedestrian pathways of the settlement, the layout was optimized to minimize excavation depths and coordinate with the parallel water supply replacement project.
Survey was completed using portable SLAM laser scanner.
